Sold Out

All natural alpaca roving suitable for spinning, needle felting, wet felting and weaving into wearable garments. Farm blends create truly unique one of a kind garments that are eco-friendly, sustainable, durable, incredibly warm and luxurious.

When an alpaca is shorn it is categorized in three ways: Prime (blanket), seconds or thirds.

The prime shearing is from the back and sides of the animal much like the placement of a horse blanket. This is the finest, most uniform fleece from an alpaca with a 3-7” staple length and has few coarse guard hairs throughout fleece.

This cut is best used for wearable garments processing the fiber into roving to be spun into yarns or used for wet or needle felting. Garments made from this grade are socks, hats, gloves, scarves, pillows, anything worn or used against the skin for prolonged periods of time as it the softest and most luxurious fleece.

Alpaca naturally comes in 16 standard colors. The shades are from the whitest of whites to light fawns and browns into deeper browns, as well as the silver greys into a true deep black. The colors we have available are a natural farm blend.

From our animals we have

  • FARM BLEND GREY: from our 3 grey alpacas

  • FARM BLEND WHITE: a mix of our fawn and white animals creating a creamy off white

  • FARM BLEND BROWN: a combination of our dark brown alpacas mixed with our medium fawn alpacas and Abby who is dark brown and white so you will find light streaks of a creamy white

  • FARM BLEND BLACK: from our nearly all black alpacas who have a few specks of brown and even a hint of grey
